A list of the 333 players scheduled to go under the hammer in Dubai on December 19, ahead of the new season, has been released for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Player Auction. The top three players on the list of 119 foreign players are Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Travis Head, three Australians who won the World Cup. Starc, who played for RCB in 2014 and 2015, makes his Player Auction comeback after a 2018 absence, while Head was not sold before the 2023 Indian Premier League. Cummins, however, has withdrawn from the IPL 2023 because of his obligations abroad. Starc was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a sum of Rs 9.4 crore; however, for the same reason, the player chose not to play.

With 23 players opting to be placed in the bracket, Starc, Cummins, and Head have all registered for the maximum reserve fee of Rs 2 crore. With a base price of Rs 2 crore, the other Australians who will participate in the auction are Josh Hazlewood, Steve Smith, Josh Abbott, and Josh Inglis.

“Out of 333 players, 214 are Indians and 119 are overseas players of which 2 players are from associate nations. The total capped players are 116, uncapped players are 215 and 2 from associate nations,” IPL mentioned in an official statement.

“A maximum of 77 slots are now available with up to 30 being slotted for overseas players,” the statement continued.

The top performers for New Zealand in the World Cup, Daryl Mitchell and Rajindra, have also registered for the competition with bases of Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh, respectively.

Mitchell only appeared in two games for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2022, and Ravindra will probably play in the IPL for the first time the following year.

    Gerald Coetzee

Gerald Coetzee, a pacer from South Africa who also had an unforgettable first World Cup campaign, has signed up for a base price of Rs 2 crore.

Having registered for Rs 2 crore, India’s Shahrul Thakur, Harshal Patel, and Umesh Yadav will all be placed in the top bracket.

Prior to the retention day, KKR released both Thakur and Umesh, and RCB let go of former Purple Cap winner Harshal following a lackluster performance in the previous season.

    Umesh Yadav

Unknown England keeper-batter Tom-Kohler Cadmore, who has a base price of Rs 40 lakh and is well-known for his big-hitting ability across the leagues, is someone who can spark a lot of interest.

Wanindu Hasaranga, who has a base price of Rs 1.5 crore, is back in the auction pool alongside Dilshan Madushanka, a World Cup winner and colleague, who may draw in some sizable bids.

    Dilshan Madushanka

Young pacers who believe in practicing their craft, like Shivam Mavi, Kartik Tyagi, and the perpetually injured Kamlesh Nagarkoti, are valued at between Rs 20 and Rs 30 lakh.
