India’s or rather, Asia’s first Metaverse wedding reception is going to happen later this week, with the launch of the associated NFT collection.Dinesh Kshatriya and Janaganandini Ramaswamy living in Tamil Nadu are going to have their wedding reception on February 6, 2022 in the virtual space i.e. Metaverse.Earlier, the first wedding NFT collection was launched by GuardianLink.io, the NFT ecosystem technology framework.

The 12-piece NFT collection of virtual weddings is listed on the Beyondlife.Club marketplace.Sponsored by Coinswitch Kuber, the collection includes everything from digital avatars of the bride and groom to a Harry Potter themed backdrop.A virtual avatar of the bride’s deceased father and a copy of the wedding invitation have also been included in the collection.This collection is getting good response from the customers.

A total of 50 copies of these NFTs were sold, one of which cost $10 (about Rs 750).””One of these NFTs was also sold on the secondary marketplace for $100 (about Rs 7,489),” the company said.The wedding invites that were sold for $10 are now trading for up to $4,450 (about three lakh rupees).

Invites to the virtual reception will be guests and have the option of choosing between Indian traditional and western clothing for their avatar.The incarnation of the deceased father of the bride will also attend the event and bless her.The interesting thing is that the guests coming to the virtual reception will also be able to give gifts in a digital way.They will get the option to gift the bride and groom with the help of Google Pay or in cryptocurrencies .
