The IPL 2022 auction is scheduled to take place on February 12 and 13 and the BCCI is yet to announce the venue of the auction. A total of 1214 players have registered for the mega auction including 318 overseas players. The ten franchises would bid for these players to complete their squad for the upcoming edition of the league. However, certain players have not registered for the mega auction.

    Ipl 2022 Trophy.

    1. Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc last played in the IPL in 2015 for the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. He picked 34 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 13.71 in the tournament. Kolkata Knight Riders picked him in the 2018 auction but he missed the entire season due to an injury. A few weeks back, Starc mentioned that he might be returning to the auction pool this year but then decided to stay away from the league.

    2. Chris Gayle

Universe Boss Chris Gayle is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League and at 42 years of age, Gayle can give a good run for the money to several active players. Without a doubt, Gayle was one of the ambassadors of the league and he helped the league get global recognition. He started his career with Kolkata Knight Riders but enjoyed a whole lot of success when he joined the RCB team in 2011. Gayle made 4965 runs in 142 matches at an average of 39.72 and a strike rate of 148.96. He won the IPL Orange Capin 2011 and 2012 and became the only player to do so in consecutive years.

    3. Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes made his IPL debut in 2017 for the Rising Pune Supergiant and won the most valuable player award for his performance. In 2018, Stokes shifted his base to Rajasthan Royals and became a key player for the franchise. Stokes has made 920 runs in 43 matches at an average of 25.55 and a strike rate of 134.50. Stokes has decided to stay away from the cash-rich league this year after a below-par performance in the Ashes.

    4. Jofra Archer

Rajasthan Royals picked Jofra Archer in 2018 for a price of INR 7.2 crores from his base price of INR 40 lakh. He has made 195 runs in 35 matches at a strike rate of 157.25 and picked 46 wickets at an average of 21.32 in the T20 league. Archer missed the last season of the IPL due to an injury and will be missing the upcoming season as well.

    5. Sam Curran

Sam Curran was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings franchise in the last two seasons. He has made 337 runs in 32 IPL matches at an average of 22.46 and a strike rate of 149.77. Curran picked 32 wickets at an average of 31.09. He sustained an injury during the UAE leg of last season which ruled him out of the T20 World Cup 2021. He has decided not to take part in the mega auction to focus on his rehabilitation.
