US intelligence officials have issued a warning about a possible attack on US soil by the terrorist organization Hezbollah, which is located in Lebanon, amid the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Four unnamed intelligence officials told POLITICO that the terrorist organization backed by Iran may target US military or diplomatic personnel in the Middle East and potentially even within the country.
“Hezbollah could draw on the capability they have … to put people [in] places to do something,” one of the officials mentioned. “It is something to be worried about.”
The officials issued a warning, not explaining the type of assaults they feared but pointing out that Hezbollah had a wider global network than both Al-Qaeda and ISIS combined.
They pointed out that those influenced by ISIS or Al-Qaeda carried out lone wolf attacks in Europe and the United States. It further stated that Hezbollah has an extensive worldwide network, which would allow the terrorist organization to send out its agents to carry out an attack in the United States.

On Sunday, US State Secretary Antony Blinken stated the ultimate stance when “a moment of profound tension in the region,” can be felt.
“This is a moment of profound tension in the region. This is a conflict that could easily metastasize, causing even more insecurity and even more suffering,” Blinken mentioned in conversation with media with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha.
Is Israel expecting an intense trap for Hezbollah?
Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon assassinated a prominent Hamas leader in Beirut on Saturday, and in retribution, they unleashed a flurry of missile attacks on northern Israel. The attack looked to be prepared by Israel. In retaliation, Israel launched airstrikes against Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.
Blinken voiced his “real concern” of an escalation there later that day. He asked the regional powers that have sway over Hezbollah to “try to keep things in check” by using their power.
