Recently, rumors have been circulating that popular actress Tamannaah Bhatia is involved in a ₹2.4 crore cryptocurrency fraud case in Puducherry. However, the actress has strongly denied these claims and called them completely false. She has also urged the media not to spread such misleading information.
Tamannaah’s Response to the Allegations
When the gossip began circulating, Tamannaah swiftly opposed the false information. She released a statement that the news about her was untrue and misleading and completely false. Tamannaah demanded the media to cease the circulation of baseless reports about her involvement in cryptocurrency transactions because she remains entirely detached from these dealings. The baseless allegations are under legal investigation so her team can take proper actions against those individuals responsible for the fake news.
In her official statement, Tamannaah said:
“It has come to my attention that rumors are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealings with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate fake, misleading, and false reports and rumors. In the meantime, my team is looking into the same to initiate appropriate action.”
Why Did These Rumors Start?
The rumors about Tamannaah’s alleged involvement in the cryptocurrency fraud case surfaced when reports suggested that she, along with actress Kajal Aggarwal, were questioned by the Puducherry Police. The reports revealed these actresses participated in events held by the company, which authorities currently accuse of fraud activities
The case came to light after resident Ashokan from Puducherry filed his complaint about a Coimbatore-based company. His complaint revealed how the company persuaded 11 people, including him, to embrace a cryptocurrency investment opportunity that later confirmed to be a scam. The investors collectively lost ₹2.4 crore in this scheme according to Ashokan who saw Tamannaah Bhatia at the company event in 2022. Actress Kajal Aggarwal joined Tamannnah Bhatia at an event which took place in Mahabaleshwar after the first gathering in Puducherry. The investigators at Puducherry Police started speculating that maybe either Tamannaah or Kajal had connections to the company due to their presence at these events following the consumer complaint. The police have not released any statement about conducting investigations targeting the actresses involved.
Suspicious Activities and Lavish Gifts
One of the main reasons this cryptocurrency scheme raised suspicion was the heavy giveaway of luxurious presents to investors at the event. This created suspicion surrounding the cryptocurrency scheme. Investors who participated in the scheme obtained luxury cars with values between ₹10 lakh and ₹1 crore based on reports. The expensive gifts made investors doubt the business since the offers seemed too perfect to believe. The lucrative investment rewards as well as the expensive gifts at the event made many doubters question if the entire operation aimed to trick investors through deceptive high-value benefits.
