Actor Suniel Shetty has verified the news that daughter Athiya Shetty and the latter’s long-time boyfriend and cricketer KL Rahul have tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. On Monday, the duo got hitched in Khandala, Mumbai. In the evening, Suniel and his son, Ahan Shetty were spotted outside the wedding location to distribute sweets to the media personnels outside the wedding venue.
Suniel averred happily that he is ‘officially a father-in-law’ now. Speaking to the media, he mentioned that the wedding was, “Very beautiful, small, very close family event.” “Bohot acha raha aur abhi phere bhi ho gaye hain. Abhi shaadi officially ho chuki hain toh officially father-in-law bhi ban chukka hoon (Wedding was very good, pheras are done now, so the wedding is officially done and I am officially a father-in-law). ” The wedding kicked off at Suniel’s farmhouse in Khandala.
Since the wedding was a close affair, very few celebs made it to the invite list. Diana Penty, Krishna Shroff and Anshula Kapoor among others appeared in all-white outfits.
Athiya and KL Rahul are expected to make the first ever appearance in public after getting hitched today, as husband and wife. Earlier, Suniel spoke affirmed that the newly wed couple will pose for the camera post the wedding, a day before the wedding, he had said, “Main kal leke aata hoon bachhon ko. Aapne jo pyaar dikhaya uske liye bohot bohot thank you (I will bring the kids tomorrow, Thank you for showing so much love).”
