It is so saddening that the 25 years old airline Jet Airways announced withdrawing its domestic and international operations on Twitter. The announcement took the nation by storm. As per the reports, their Board were unable to gain emergency financial support from lenders and were waiting on decisions for further course of action.

With Jet Airways’ giant closure 22,000 of its employees has now become jobless. Hundreds of Jet Airways’ employees gathered at the Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on Thursday to appeal the government to do ‘something’ to revive their livelihood.

To let you know, the last flight of Jet Airways took off on April 17, 2019. Jet Airways was the largest Indian Airline. Around 16,500 employees including pilots, engineers and ground staff have not been paid for months and also the company has made no promise on clearing their dues.

Jet Airways had been battling financial crisis for months. On April 16, 2019 an association of lenders led by State Bank of India, refused Rs 983 crore emergency funding to Jet Airways. Not only that but lenders also flunked in finding a potential buyer for the airline. Therefore, we will no longer see Jet Airways flying high in the sky.
