Actor- comedian Johnny Lever recalled the old days when discussing his academic years and the time after he graduated in Class 7. In a recent interview, the comedian talked openly about his struggles with his alcoholic father as a kid and recalled how much his teacher cared for him even after he stopped attending class.
Johnny has contributed to more than 300 Hindi movies. He became well-known for his comedic performances in movies like Dulhe Raja (1998) and Deewana Mastana (1997), for which he also won Filmfare Awards. Johnny last appeared in Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma’s dual parts in Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus. The movie failed to meet audience expectations and performed poorly at the box office. Johnny recently talked about the film’s failure and noted that despite its poor performance, it demonstrates that fans still look to celebrities for funny material.
In a recent chat with Mashable India, Johnny Lever opened up about his formative years. In an episode of The Bombay Journey, when questioned why he dropped out of class in seventh grade, he responded, “My father was an alcoholic, due to which he never paid any attention to us, but it was my elder uncle who paid us for our fees and ration. So after a while I got infuriated and left school. But I got a lot of love while I was in school, I used to imitate everyone.”
“Even the teachers. My class teacher, Damyanti teacher, was very lovely. I am still in touch with her. When I left, she sent the students to call me and even wanted to pay the fees and clothes for me to join back the school,” he further added.
