New eye-catching stills from Kangana Ranaut’s next flick Tejas have been released. The film’s debut date has also been disclosed by her. On October 20, it will be released in theatres. In the new stills, the actor—who in the movie portrays an Air Force pilot—is pictured wearing a uniform.
Kangana posted on Instagram, “Honouring the bravery of our heroic Air Force Pilots! Tejas, releasing in cinemas on 20th October. @sarveshmewara @varun.mitra @anshul14chauhan @ronnie.screwvala @rsvpmovies.”
She may be seen leaving a Tejas, a multipurpose combat aircraft, in the first still. Another image depicts her taking part in an action sequence with a jeep on fire in the backdrop. She also shared a close-up of her unformal attire on her Instagram Stories, complete with a garrison cap. One of the stills has the caption, “India’s first aerial action movie is here.” She also included a shot with several Tejas planes visible in the background.
A fan wrote, “Banno tera swagger, lagey sexy.” Another added, “That’s woman power.” Someone said “Bollywood ki Jhansi ki Rani”.
Tejas has been in development since 2020, but the coronavirus epidemic caused a delay. It’s under Sarvesh Mewara’s direction. In a statement released in 2020, Kangana talked about the movie and said, “I’ve always wanted to play a soldier and have been fascinated with the Armed Forces since childhood. I’ve never held back my emotions for our jawans and spoken openly about how strongly I feel about their heroism. They keep our country secure and our people safe. So, I’m very happy to be doing this film. Being in uniform will be one of the biggest highlights of my life.”
Film producer Ronnie Screwvala said in conversation with Mumbai Mirror, “Tejas is not a sequel to Uri, because that was a true story and this isn’t. But it is on the same lines and on the same scale.”
In the meantime, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone are also putting the finishing touches on Fighter, an aerial action comedy. Siddharth Anand is directing the movie, which will be released in January of next year.
