Kapil Sharma, that famous comedian who we all love and see on the TV has recently opened a beautiful cafe in Surrey Canada with his wife- Ginni Chatrath. All was going on well. The people visited the cafe to enjoy the food and the couple was also quite happy with their new business venture.
However, a couple of days after the grand opening, an outrageous incident occurred. On 9th July, shots were fired in front of Kap Cafe. The peaceful zone instantly became an intimidating setting. Luckily, the shooting did not prove injurious to anyone, yet the bullets were fired at the building of the cafe and even at the street houses. Residents in the locale were horrified and terrified.
Cops arrived hurriedly and began their investigation. CCTV cameras were checked, and shells of bullets were on the ground. And here is a point when they get serious. Amidst this, a man named Harjit Singh Laddi had claimed that he shot it. The man is not an ordinary citizen, he is a wanted terrorist accused of belonging to a banned organization known as Babbar Khalsa International, in favor of Khalistani thoughts (a separate Sikh state). He is on the list of dangerous people, created by Indian agencies, and he is assumed to be hiding in Germany. As per his message, he became furious when Kapil Sharma allegedly made a few remarks on Nihang Sikhs- a traditional Sikh warrior community. However, there is yet no definite evidence on what Kapil said and whether this was the cause.
People raising questions
The question that people are asking now is, why should anybody attack a cafe- a place where people come to eat, to laugh, and to spend quality time. The cafe itself is quite pretty. It is pink, has low lights, and comfortable seats. It was made by Kapil and Ginni with a love. This was supposed to be a happy haven to Indian families in Canada. But now the cafe appears depressing, following the shooting.
The incident was big, but Kapil Sharma has not commented publicly on this yet. Recently, Ginni posted on Instagram thanking people who continuously supported her, and no one thought this would take place.
Law enforcement officer statement
Canadian law enforcement officials are still investigating the case, and Indian agencies are also monitoring the situation. The report suggests that it may not be merely a local event, but rather a part of the politics between countries and some hate groups. As of now, all we can pray is that Kapil and his family are alive and that justice shall prevail.
