Karan also told how he has also told Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra not to take him or change the poster of the film. However, Aditya Chopra refused to do so and showed him the trailer of the film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’.
In the video, Karan Johar can be heard saying that he had rejected both Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma as artists in their early days. He also told what reaction he gave after seeing Ranveer in the film ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’. This old video is now going viral again on social media. In the clip we can see Karan Johar saying to Anushka, ‘I want to tell you a true story. I saw your audition and I said you can’t take this girl. After which Anushka was quite hurt.
Karan also recalled the first time he saw Ranveer. He said that ‘I was sitting with Aditya Chopra and Yash Chacha. He said that among them is the actor of ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’. I said who is it? He then pointed to Ranveer and I said, ‘He’s in Band Baaja Baaraat?’ After that, I also saw the poster of Band Baja Baaraat and told to change the poster. I saw the promo and I said that this guy has confidence but it’s not showing up in the poster. So change this poster. ‘
