Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak to a large gathering of BJP supporters on Monday in the next election-year state of Madhya Pradesh. The ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ is being held on the anniversary of the birth of Jana Sangh co-founder Deendayal Upadhyaya to symbolise the official conclusion of the BJP’s ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatras’ that crisscrossed the entire state, according to party leaders.
The BJP, according to insiders, has set a lofty goal of attracting 10 lakh people to the event on Monday, which the saffron party plans to use as a show of force.
“Modiji is going to address ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ at Jamboree Maidan in Bhopal on September 25, the birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya,” MP BJP chief VD Sharma mentioned in conversation to PTI.
“Lakhs of BJP workers are expected to reach the venue. They are very excited to hear Modiji,” Sharma added.
Earlier this month, the BJP launched five yatras to connect with the general public, with party president JP Nadda launching the first one on September 3 from Chitrakoot in Satna.
“The formal culmination of these yatras would mark the mega workers’ meet in Bhopal on September 25,” party leaders averred.
The BJP’s campaign slogan for the upcoming MP assembly elections is “abki bar 150 par” (winning in more than 150 seats). Large cutouts of Modi may be seen all throughout Bhopal in the days leading up to the BJP workers’ mega-meeting on Monday. Senior BJP leaders’ posters have also been placed in various locations.
State BJP chairman VD Sharma, Union Minister and BJP’s MP Election In-charge Bhupendra Yadav, Union Minister and MP Election Management Committee convenor Narendra Tomar, and other prominent figures adorned the bustling Roshanpura Chowk and raised party flags there.
The Union ministers and other leaders visited the Maidan and inspected the preparations alongside Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, one day before the PM’s arrival.
