A few specifics about Salman Khan and Karan Johar’s recent partnership have emerged. The Bull, a film, began shooting on December 29 in Mumbai with the mahurat shot. The film, which is being directed by Vishnu Vardhan of Shershaah fame, would get the support of Karan’s Dharma Productions.

According to a press release, Salman will portray Brigadier Farukh Bulsara, the commander of Operation Cactus in the Maldives in 1988. Filming is scheduled to start in February, and he will play a paramilitary officer in the film.

The Bull will narrate the story of Operation Cactus, in which the Indian military helped the Maldives regain power on November 3, 1988, in response to a coup attempt spearheaded by businessman Abdullah Luthufi and the People’s Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE).

In a matter of hours, the Indian military effectively eliminated the mercenaries and gave President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s administration back power. According to the press release, Salman trains for 3.5 hours each day in order to master the physical demands of the role.

On December 27, 2023, Karan Johar wished Salman a happy 58th birthday. Karan wrote a long message on Instagram alongside a vintage photo of Salman from his 1998 feature film debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

He penned down, “25 years ago, I was at a party lost and confused. A massive movie star came up to me and asked me why I was standing by a corner. I told him I had been to several actors for a part but was politely rejected. The superstar’s sister is close to me so he graciously said she had spoken highly of my script and that I should meet him the next day to narrate the film to him.”

“I am deeply grateful to Alvira (Khan) and my father’s goodwill for making sure I had the perfect Aman and SALMAN KHAN in my debut film! Gestures and stories like this just don’t happen today! Happy birthday Salman! So much love and respect for you always. Also, 25 years later we will finally have a story to tell again… not saying any more than that,” Karan continued.
