The 46-year-old Korean soprano vocalist Lee Sang Eun has passed away. According to reports, she was discovered dead in a lavatory just before she was to perform at the Gimcheon Municipal Choir’s 33rd regular concert. A probe is currently being conducted.

The police are looking into her death, according to News1. Additionally, it stated that on Thursday at around 8:32 pm, an event staff member discovered the singer unconscious and summoned the police. She was supposed to play at Carmina Burana at the Grand Hall of the Gimcheon Culture and Art Centre as part of a commemorative event for the cultural exchange between England and Honam.

“It was time for Lee Sang Eun to come on stage, but she wasn’t backstage. When I looked in the bathroom, I found her lying on the floor,” Koreaboo stated in a report in conversation with a staff from the incident. The singer was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where it is said that she was pronounced dead. In the meanwhile, sources state that authorities have no reason to believe that there was any wrongdoing.
