    Man Tear-Off Passport Pages To Hide Thailand Holiday Trip From Wife, Police Did This

    A strange case has come to light from Pune. Here a person was stopped from boarding a flight to the Maldives.

    When the passport of this person was seen at the immigration of the International Airport, it was found that many of the pages were torn from it. When questioned, he told that he tore these pages so that his wife would not know about his travel history.

    The name of the person is being told as Samdarshi Yadav (32). This man married in 2019 and tore pages from his passport giving information about some of the trips he had made before 2019. Samdarshi blew away about 10 pages from his passport. According to the copy of the FIR and the remand application attached to the case, Yadav tore 3,4,5,6, and 31,32,33,34 pages from the passport in 2019. On July 8, he was produced in the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate Court and released on bail after paying a fine of Rs 25,000.

    Yadav was booked under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 465 (forgery), 468 and 471 (using a forged document or electronic record), and the Passport Act.

    According to the Passport Act, it is considered an offense to tear the passport or damage it in any way. Under the offenses and punishment section, some things were told which are necessary to follow. Leaking them or ignoring them can put someone in trouble.

    1. Willfully giving any wrong information or suppressing any details necessary to obtain the passport, deleting or changing the entry made in the passport illegally.
    2. Failure to show passport on demand.
    3. Using someone else’s passport.
    4. Giving your passport to someone else to use.

    Any person involved in any of these activities can be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years or with a fine which may extend to 5000. In some cases, both fines and punishments are given.
