Manoj Muntashir, a co-author of Adipurush, was given security protection by the Mumbai Police on Monday after claiming that his life was in danger. According to a recent report, the police have stated that they are looking into the situation.
Prabhas plays Raghav (Ram), Kriti Sanon plays Janaki (Sita), and Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh (Raavan) in Om Raut’s Adipurush. The T-Series-produced movie debuted in theatres on June 16. It has received harsh criticism for using such simple terminology.
ANI tweeted, “Mumbai Police provides security to dialogue writer of #Adipurush, Manoj Muntashir after he sought a security cover citing a threat to his life. Police say that they are investigating the matter.”
The film, a dramatic reenactment of the Ramayana, received criticism on social media for its subpar visual effects and contentious lines, which included ‘marega bete’, ‘bua ka bagicha hain kya’ and ‘jalegi tere baap ki’.
After receiving feedback on his written lines, Manoj released a lengthy note on Twitter on Sunday, announcing that the film’s team had decided to “revise some of the dialogues” and that the revised lines would be included in the movie by this week. Additionally, he stated that other individuals “wrote indecent words for me on social media.”
He further mentioned in his tweet, “My own brothers wrote indecent words for me on social media. My own, for whose respected mothers I read poems many times on TV, addressed my own mother with indecent words. I kept thinking, there can be differences, but where did my brothers suddenly get so bitter that they forgot to see Shri Ram who considered every mother as his mother? Sitting at the feet of Shabri, as if sitting at the feet of Kaushalya.”
Although the movie has received criticism, three days after its release it has already joined the 300 crore club at the worldwide box office. The movie made 340 crore at the box office throughout the first weekend, T-Series reported in a tweet on Monday.
