Jio And Brookfield Join Forces To Sign A massive Rs 16500 Crore Deal

Led by Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Jio continues to shape the telecommunications landscape in India. Known for introducing affordable data plans and cutting-edge devices, Jio made a major impact and has played a pivotal role in transforming the telecom sector. And now the company has teamed up with trusted partners, including the Canadian multinational company Brookfield. To ensure seamless connectivity for millions of users nationwide,

A global telecom tower operator Brookfield recently made waves by signing a massive Rs 16,500 crore deal, solidifying its position as the largest telecom tower company in India. The deal includes buying all the shares of the Indian part of American Tower Corporation (ATC), a big player in the industry. But let us tell you that this deal is waiting for approval from regulators.
This plan of action comes as Brookfield expands its footprint in the Indian telecom market.

With the accomplishment of ATC India, Brookfield now has an impressive portfolio of approximately 253,000 towers across the country. After being in the market for 17 years, ATC India has departured mainly because its main client, Vodafone Idea, faced a lot of problems with operations and money. This has allowed Brookfield to become more prominent in the industry. Earlier Indus held the title of India’s largest telecom tower company, with over 200,000 towers. However, Brookfield has now taken over to the forefront of the industry, surpassing its competitors.

Arpit Agrawal, Managing Director, Head of Infrastructure, India & Middle East, at Brookfield, expressed his excitement about the acquisition. He stated, “We are looking forward to expanding and enhancing our existing telecom tower portfolio in India, which enables a broader array of solutions for our customers and partners. Through strategic acquisitions like ATC India, we remain deeply committed to empowering digital connectivity and working to transform the telecom infrastructure across the region.”
