Many Bollywood stars have praised the justice and the victory of a mother in the Nirbhaya case after seven years. These include Sushmita Sen, Rishi Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Ritesh Deshmukh. Actress Sushmita Sen said, “Salutations to the humility of a mother with folded hands. Asha Devi kept watching it all! Justice was finally found. Hashtaginibharya”
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor said, “‘Jaisi karne waisi bharni’. Let’s present this as an example not only in India but across the world. The punishment for rape is only death. You have to respect femininity. Shame on people, because of whom there was a delay in hanging. Jai Hind ”
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta said, “If the convicts of Nirbhaya were hanged only in 2012 it could have stopped many crimes against women in the judicial system. It is time that the Indian government needs to take steps for judicial reform. Eventually the Nirbhaya case was over. I wish it had happened sooner, but I’m glad it happened. Eventually she and her parents find peace.
Apart from her Ritesh Deshmukh said, “My sympathies and prayers with the parents, friends and well-wishers of the hashtagjustice fornirbhaya . The wait was long, but justice was met.” The actor further wrote, “Enforcing stringent laws to instill fear in demons who commit such heinous crimes. The only remedy is to give harsh punishment and establish a fast court.”
