Officially, Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter on a loan from Chelsea. The agreement was reached and decided upon some time ago, and it has indeed been formally confirmed by the club. Lukaku only recently moved to Stamford Bridge from Inter in a deal worth a club record 97.5 million pounds. However, he was only able to score eight goals for Chelsea the previous season.
Lukaku had a stellar track record during his prior tenure at Inter. He had participated in 95 games for them altogether. Out of that, he had made 64 goals and 16 assists. In addition, he forced Inter to win the Serie A in 2020–21, ending Juventus’ nine-year dominance. He had been crucial to Inter’s success.
