It was already known that Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Army Of The Dead would get a next installment on Netflix . The streaming service ordered the film before the release of the original. Now Snyder has also dropped the title.
This one is Army Of Thieves and becomes a precursor. Some cast members will return for the prequel and lead actor Matthias Schweighöfer will direct with Snyder as producer.
So Army Of Thieves will follow some of the same characters ahead of their dangerous raid in the Nevada desert. The story takes place during the early days of the viral outbreak leading to the zombie apocalypse.
Ludwig Dieter
Netflix has clear confidence in the potential franchise as there is an animated series in the works, details of which are sparse.
Army Of Thieves will focus heavily on the backstory of Schweighöfer’s character Ludwig Dieter. The focus will be on how he fell in love with creaking safes and how the safe in Army Of The Dead becomes important to him.
