    Pakistani actor lauds Naseeruddin Shah for his apology over Sindhi language claim

    Naseeruddin Shah in an interview had stated that the Sindhi language is no more spoken in Pakistan. Later on Thursday, the veteran actor apologised for his erroneous statament.

    Post his apology went public, Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui appreciated his gesture.In an official statement, Naseeruddin Shah mentioned about how his statement has led to fresh ‘two completely unnecessary controversies’.

    Adnan has frequently slammed Bollywood films for misinterpretation of Pakistanis in the film and now have reacter to Naseeruddin Shah’s Facebook post. Adnan earlier also took a dig to Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Mission Majnu and termed it ‘distasteful’ and ‘factually incorrect’.

    On Thursday, the actor tweeted and appreciated Shah’s apology note and added, “Apologising for a mistake is indeed a true testament to a person’s character and intellect. Naseer sahab’s recent gesture has only deepened my admiration for him. It takes strength and humility to acknowledge one’s errors and take responsibility for them.”

    Shah recently clarified that his statement was not factually correct and cleared what his intention was while making the statement. He penned down, “Two completely unnecessary controversies seem to have erupted. over things I’ve said recently. One regarding my mis-statement about the Sindhi language in Pakistan. I was in error there.”

    He further elucidated the relationship between Marathi language and Farsi, “The second over what I’m supposed to have said about the relationship between Marathi and Farsi. My exact words were “many Marathi words are of Farsi origin.” My intention was not to run down the Marathi language but to talk of how diversity enriches all cultures Urdu itself is a mix of Hindi Farsi Turkish and Arabic. English has borrowed words from all European languages not to mention Hindustani and I suppose that is true of every language spoken on earth.”

    Naseeruddin Shah stated an apology for his claims on Sindhi and Marathi languages. While the promotions for web series Taj: Divided By Blood season 2, Naseeruddin spoke about the vivid languages that is spoken by people in Pakistan. Wherein he stated that Sindhi is no longer spoke as a language in Pakistan.

    In coversation with Tried and Refused Productions’ YouTube channel, Shah said, “They have Balochi, they have Bari, they have Siraiki and they have Pushto. Sindhi is, of course, no longer spoken in Pakistan.”
