One of the most anticipated Bollywood films is Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The action drama, which stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone and is directed by Siddharth Anand, has been on everyone’s watch list ever since it was announced.

The recently published trailer for the film, which included the film’s anti-Pakistan narrative, has drawn criticism for the film. The action-packed preview, which took place in the wake of the Pulwama incident, depicted the Indian Air Force’s retaliation to the terrorist attack. Many Pakistani stars attacked the filmmakers for portraying an anti-Pakistan narrative and bigotry shortly after the teaser was released.

Pakistani actor’s take on the film

Actress Hania Aamir, who is extremely well-known in both Pakistan and India, continued to criticize the filmmakers, stating that it is disheartening to witness movies being used as a political football between the two nations.

She posted on her IG story, “So sad and unfortunate to know that there are artists out there in this day and age who are aware of the power that the cinema holds and still go ahead and feed the riff between the two countries. I feel sorry for the artists who try to bridge the gap by trusting their art as a medium.”

Pakistani actor Asad Siddiqui wrote, “Same old chronicle. Aren’t you guys tired of selling the same false crap?! Grow up, guys! The world is moving on and getting mature but why do you want to sell this cheap story of hatred? Could have also promoted peace. Don’t we have enough hatred in the world that you had to boost more hate [through] this global medium of movies?”, he said before adding, “We all have a responsibility to promote peace around the globe instead of hate. What are you trying to prove here with this movie though?! How about checking facts that the whole world knows? You came, and we shot your MiG-21 and captured your pilot and then we released him with a fantastic cup of tea. Wake up, you guys.”

Adnan Siddiqui commented, “Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains. Despite our love for your films, it’s disheartening. Art transcends boundaries; let’s use it to promote love and peace. Two nations, victims of politics, deserve better.”

Sidharth Anand’s takes a subtle dig:

Posting the screenshot of Hania’s post on X and wrote, “Didn’t she literally work in a movie which was anti-India? If indian celebs have no issue with the anti-India stuff Pakistani celebs do in movies, why do Pak celebs care so much?”

Hania Aamir’s recent dance at a friend’s reception was well-received in India

Another added, ”was ‘art’ breathing here  @realhaniahehe??”, the Pathaan director replied, ”Oh!”

Starring industry heavyweights Hrithik, Deepika, and Anil Kapoor, the recently released trailer revealed the main plot and included amazing aerial action sequences. An elite Indian Air Force (IAF) unit known as the Air Dragons is led by group captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Anil), squadron leader Shamsher Pathania (Hrithik), and squadron leader Minal Rathore (Deepika) in the film.

Fighter also stars Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover in supporting parts in addition to the main actors.

One day prior to India’s Republic Day on January 25, 2024, the movie is slated for theatrical release.
