The box office marathon is incessant and challenging on all terms. Recently two mega budget Bollywood films Thank God and Ram Setu which have managed to garner minimal success at the box office. Even though Ram Setu has been quite promising at the domestic theaters, it could could not fetch better numbers at the overseas level. However, a Pakistani feature film The Legend of Maula Jatt featuring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan has been outperforming at the US and UK box offices.
The Legend of Maula Jatt has emerged as the biggest-scale Pakistani film to date. It grossed at PKR 100 crore ( ₹37 crore). The movie also features Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malik.
According to a report by Dawn, by thirteenth day the film earned a whopping $46,825 from across 56 screens in the UK, surpassing the two Bollywood films. While the Ajay Devgn filmn Thank God collected $19,472 from across 83 screens while Akshay’s Ram Setu collected $16,595 via., 95 screens.
However, as of October 27, there was a subtle gap between Maula Jatt’s earnings and the two Bollywood films in the US theaters. Maula Jatt gained $56,586 whereas Ram Setu collected $48,330 and Thank God earned $40,358.
The Legend of Maula Jatt is a cult classic directed by Bilal Lashari.
