Actress Parineeti Chopra has shown her displeasure over the film’s release on the digital platform. Here’s what she said on this matter.
Due to the lockdown, when theaters across the country are locked, the discussion of releasing the film on the OTT platform i.e. digital platform is very much in discussions. Recently Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana’s film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, which was to be released in theaters in April, has also been released on Amazon Prime today on 12th June. Now, this discussion is going on regarding the rest of the films.
Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra has given a statement regarding the OTT platform. The actress said that releasing the film on a digital platform is just a compromise. Due to the current situation, the people are not able to watch films on theatres therefore the entertainment industry is coming up with an idea to release films on OTT platforms. Showing her displeasure she said that if her film ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Farrar’ will also be released on the digital platform, she will definitely not like it at all.
The actress said, “We are still traditional somewhere and it seems that the OTT platform is just a compromise.” But you cannot say anything. At the moment since all are changing their way of thinking. Therefore the current OTT platform is gaining much popularity. Let us tell you that Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor’s film ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Farrar’ was to be released in theaters on March 20. But at that time orders were given to close all theaters due to Coronavirus. A few days later the lockdown extended. And now there is no information about the re-opening of theatres yet.
