A petition to bring Johnny Depp back to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is doing very well. It draws an awful lot of signatures on Change.org.
While the Pirates franchise apparently doesn’t stand much of a chance without the charismatic Johnny Depp, Disney still wants to give it a try. Two new films are being worked on, and neither of them has room for Depps Captain Jack Sparrow.
But fans want it.
But fans seem to like to see Depp return. A petition on Change.org to bring him back to the franchise has been signed nearly 400,000 times. That goes quickly.
It is not strange that some fans would like to see him again. The franchise has relied on Depp’s presence all these years, although the last two films were not his strongest. In addition, Amber Heard ‘s divorce and all the revelations that accompany it in court are causing a major image shift for Depp.
Where he once seemed to be a friendly and cool actor, that image has now shifted. So the question is whether that return is still there.
