A breach in Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi’s security? Is his life under threat? Actually, recently, he had gone to file nomination from Amethi yesterday something had happened which is immensely worrisome. The Congress said during Rahul’s media interaction, a laser was pointed at his head, which could have come from a sniper rifle.

The party sent a 2-page letter to the Home Minister Rajnath Singh and asked to have an inquiry. It demanded “probe and neutralise the threat” if any. The Party also sent a video clip along with a letter that shows a spot of green laser light on the head of Rahul Gandhi. It got caught 7 times in the camera. Watch the clip below:

To let you know, Rahul Gandhi’s father and grandmother, former Prime Ministers Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi, were assassinated. In view of the high threat perception, Mr Gandhi is an SPG (Special Protection Group) protectee.

After having a thorough examination on the matter, the home ministry said they had consulted the Director of the SPG, it was not a laser light but a cellphone light. The ministry spokesperson said,

“The “green light” shown in the clipping was found to be that of a mobile phone used by the AICC photographer, who was video graphing the impromptu press interaction of Rahul Gandhi near the collectorate at Amethi.  Director (SPG) has also informed MHA that this position was conveyed to the personal staff of Shri Rahul Gandhi”.
