Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will on Tuesday the family of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead last week. Moosewala, 28, joined the Congress in December last year and fruitlessly contested the Punjab assembly elections this year.
Union home minister Amit Shah, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Congress leader Sachin Pilot have been among the top politicians who prior met Moosewala’s family.
Mann’s a government confronted criticism withdrawing the security of Moosewala and 423 others before the murder. Moosewala’s family and the Congress have been demanding a probe by a central agency into the killing.
Eight sharpshooters are believed to have been identified as Moosewala’s killers as the probe go on into the murder. A CCTV picture is also doing the rounds where the singer is purportedly spotted taking selfies for some individuals, two of whom allegedly informed the shooters soon after the artist singer left the area.
