Rani Mukerji has been the queen of hearts with a successful span running across 25 years as of now. She made her debut in movies with a Bengali film Biyer Phool in 1996 and later started her journey in Bollywood with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. The actor mentioned that initially she never planned to join the showbiz despite coming from a film background, moreover her parents too never spoke business at home.

The actor will be back with a fresh project, Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, after two years.

While speaking to Pinkvilla in an interview, Rani mentioned, “When I grew up, an offer came my way. My mother very politely put it to me that try it, if it doesn’t work for you, you can go back to studies. Maybe I didn’t realise at that time, the situation in my family was such that there was a need of financial help. But I didn’t think of this much as this. No child thinks their parents aren’t doing well.”

She further added, “The kind of lifestyle that my parents tried to give me and my brother, it was quite comfortable. I’m so glad that she did because I’m really in love with my profession today.” While growing up she though of becoming an interior designer or a lawyer.

Rani’s father Ram Mukherjee helmed films like Hum Hindustani (1960) and Leader (1964) and also introduced Rani as the fresh face with Biyer Phool alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee and Indrani Haldar.

The actor will be now seen in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway also starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta.
