It is well-known that the actor of century Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan is married to former Miss World Aishwarya Rai. But do you know before marrying Aishwarya, he was engaged to actress Karisma Kapoor? But due to some personal reasons, they called off their wedding.
Later Karisma Kapoor got married to Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapoor in 2003 who she divorced in 2016. It was Sanjay’s second marriage to Karisma. Now he is married to Priya Sachdev. Whereas Abhishek Bachchan married Aishwarya Rai in 2007.
In an interview, given to People magazine, Abhishek’s other Jaya Bachchan revealed the reason why she gave her consent to her son on marrying Aishwarya Rai. She said for their family cultural values and traditions are very important. She said while raising her children she took care that her children became courteous.
When it was asked from Jaya that it was the reason she chose Aishwarya Rai? To which she replied, yes. She said she wanted her daughter-in-law to be aware of the cultural and family morals and value of our religion.
When it was asked, so this was the reason the family refused to make Karisma Kapoor their daughter-in-law? She replied, Karisma is her husband’s friend’s daughter so saying such things about her is not right.
