On 25th January every this day is celebrated as National Voters’ Day. And on this day Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced that the remote voting system will soon begin its trials. According to Arora who is the chief election commissioner the things regarding the voting system have been introduced, keeping the future prospects in mind. This will not only make things convenient but also easier than before.
Every year thousands of people are abstained from voting in every election due to some reason like work, health, schools, or any other reason. And are unable to exercise their voting right due to geographical barriers, because as per the rule the voter has to go to the specific booth where the name is registered. And that’s the reason why the commission has taken such an initiative. If this initiative gets successful, voters in any part of the country will be able to cast their votes.
Not only this but the commission is also thinking of providing postal ballot service to Indians abroad who are studying and working. In connection to this, the commission has sent a proposal to the Union Law Ministry. And the matter on this is under discussion. But the facility doesn’t stop here. Further, the commission also said that there are more plans to make the voting process smooth and peaceful. They will launch the e-epic card on Monday. And through that card, it will be possible to easily add names to the voter list. In addition, the connection with the voters will be further enhanced through ‘Hello Voters’ and web radio.
