Star India wicketkeeper Rishab Pant who recently met with a near to fatal accident is likely to stay inactive for the whole of 2023 as stated in a report by ESPN cric info. As per the report, the BCCI stated that the player has faced tear in three key ligaments that is in knee, two of which were operated through surgery and the third is expected to get repaired post six weeks.

The report further stated that the cricketer may be out of action for whole six months which also suggests that he might be a part of the IPL, while this also raised eyebrows on his fitness before the ODI World Cup in October-November.

Erstwhile Indian team captain and BCCI president, Saurav Ganguly spoke about Pant’s absence from the series. “Rishabh Pant will not be available for the IPL,” Ganguly told Sports Today.

“It will be a great IPL (for the team), we will do well but Rishabh Pant’s injury will affect the Delhi Capitals,” Ganguly said on Tuesday.

Pant is a flexible wicketkeeper who has been instrumental in the test cricket series and have marked historic wins for the Indian team for the past three years.
