Sachin Tendulkar’s remark on Henry Nicholls’ dismissal

On Thursday, the third Test between England and New Zealand featured an odd dismissal. Henry Nicholls, a New Zealand batsman, came down the track intending to hit a half-volley from Jack Leach for a four down the ground, but his shot unintentionally went straight towards Daryl Mitchell at the non-striker’s end, hit Mitchell’s bat, and ultimately ended up in the hands of mid-off fielder Alex Lees. While the entire England team celebrated the fortunate wicket, the unfortunate dismissal also amused cricket viewers.

Sachin Tendulkar, the former cricketer for India, was one of those who commented on the video. Tendulkar jokingly commented on the dismissal, saying that in “gully cricket,” the batter who was on non-strike would have been declared out rather than the batter who was.

The cricket veteran added a zany face emoji and said, “In gully cricket, we’d declare the non-striker out.

Another bizzare moment during this test mtch was when Trent Boult (3/73) destroyed England’s top order, and Neil Wagner (2/53) caused enough damage in the middle to push them to 55/6 at one point. The match was ultimately won by England thanks to Jonny Bairstow’s unbeaten 130 and Jamie Overton’s 89 not out. By the end of Day 2 of play, the pair had scored an unbroken 209 runs for the sixth wicket, greatly improving England’s situation.
