Salman Khan believes that there should be censorship on the OTT, speaks about ‘clean content’

According to Salman Khan, “clean content” is effective, and he also thinks there should be censorship on digital networks. Salman has yet to make his OTT debut with movies or programs, unlike many other notable actors.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, Salman’s first film, Radhe, had a hybrid distribution. On the same day in 2021, Your Most Wanted Bhai premiered on ZEE5 via pay-per-view and in cinemas.

In a recent event, Salman averred, “I really think there should be censorship on the medium (OTT). All these… vulgarity, nudity, gaali galauch (swearing) should stop. Kids as young as 15 or 16-year-old can watch them all. Would you like it if your young daughter watches it? I just think the content on OTT should be checked. Jitna clean hoga content, utna behtar hoga, viewership uski zyada hogi (the cleaner the content, the better it will be. It will also have a better viewership).”

Several actors have received praise for their work in shows and movies that debuted on digital networks over the past few years. Saif Ali Khan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Shahid Kapoor, and Manoj Bajpayee are just a few of the well-known actors who have entered the realm of OTT. When theatre attendance began to drop after the Covid-19 pandemic, a few celebrities also decided to release their movies digitally.
