India made the successful launch of Chandrayaan 2 mission. By this, it becomes the fourth country after the US, Russia and China in pulling off a soft landing on the moon. The whole world appreciated India’s hard work and uber success for its space mission. Seeing this, our neighbouring country Pakistan announced that it will send its first astronaut to space in 2022.

According to the reports, they might use China’s satellite launching facilities. Pakistan’s Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Khan, said that the selection process of the astronaut for the space mission would start from February 2020. He tweeted,

“The process starting from 50 initial selectees will narrow to one person who would go into the space,” he added. ISRO launched its second moon mission Chandrayaan-II by using the powerful launcher GSLV-Mk III, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota at 2:43 PM on July 22.

Chandrayaan-II’s lander named as Vikram inspired by Dr Vikram A Sarabhai will complete the 384,400 km journey and land on the moon on the 48th day of the mission. According to the ISRO, it will be the most complex mission ever undertaken by it. ISRO chairman K Sivan said, under the nearly Rs 1,000 crore mission, the landing on the moon near the South Pole would be on September 6 or 7 on uncharted territory. Chandrayaan-2 has three modules, Orbiter, Lander (Vikram) and Rover (Pragyan).
