And just after Mominul Haque decided to step down from captaincy the Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan has started preparing to foresee a bright future with a captain who has “long term plans”
When asked about Shakib Al Hasan, Nazmul said that Shakib is the only contender who can replace Mominul but Shakib has to confirm his availability in longer formats.
Shakib has not been consistent when it comes to the Test format, since he also missed the great Test series against Pakistan. The only Test he played recently was against Sri Lanka, other than that Shakib has stayed away from longer formats.
His availability in longer formats will make him the captain but if chosen as a skipper, Shakib should abide by the promise given by the BCB President of playing consistently.
