As per the reports Karan Johar will be switching from film to web series for its third installment of the Student of The Year franchise which will also star Shanaya Kapoor. Shanaya is the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor.
She has also work earlier as an assistant director on her cousin’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil girl starring Janhvi Kapoor.
Karan Johar will be collaborating with an ott platforms for the release of the third film of the Student of The Year franchise. According to a Pinkvilla report he will be tying up with Disney Plus hotstar for the release. The report also stay at that the script is under processing and the schedule will be released in the last quarter of this year. Along with Shanaya the makers are looking for fresh faces for which the casting process is on.
As per the reports media sources have claimed that work is still in progress yet is in complete regar at dharmas digital content subsidiary, Dharmatic Entertainment.
Since 2 years shanaya’s Bollywood debut launch was awaited by many. She was expected to be launched in Karan Johar’s Bedhadak with Lakshya Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada.
But later Shashank Khaitan’s film was shelved pertaining to issues in the script. Shanaya will be next featured in Malayalam actor Mohanlal’s upcoming film called Vrushabha.
SOTY was first launched in 2012 which starred Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra in Iead roles. Seven years later the second film of the franchise was announced Student of the Year 2 (SOTY 2).
