Veteran actor Sharmila Tagore is making her comeback with Gulmohar for which she attended the special screening in Delhi on Sunday. In a clip posted n Instagram, Sharmila averred that despite being a part of the movie, working on the script, she profusely cried after watching it for the third time.
In the clip, Sharmila connected with the audience and stated, “Thank you so much and I hope you liked the movie. I have seen it for the third time and I was still crying profusely, although I am in it.”
She further added, “Of course, working with Manoj (Bajpayee) and Suraj (Sharma), actually, Suraj makes you cry. But I kind of vibe with this young lot. They make it so difficult for themselves. They can easily take their father’s money and get on. But they have to punish themselves.”
Sharmila’s film Gulmohar will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on March 3. The family drama also sees the first ever collaboration of Manoj Bajpayee with Sharmila Tagore. Helmed by Rahul V Chittella, Gulmohar also stars Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma, Simran, and Kaveri Seth. The film is bankrolled by Star Studios in collaboration with Chalkboard Entertainment and Autonomous Works.
Gulmohar depicts a plot which revolves around the generational Batra family who are braced up to move away from their traditional 34-year-old family home which further enlivens the bond shared by each of them in the family, while also witnessing all the secrets and insecurities.
Recently, Manoj spoke to PTI and lauded Sharmila, “Sharmila Tagore ji has been very easy to work with, she knew how to put everyone at ease. She worked like a team member. It was fascinating to see her getting nervous before the shot, she was giving her shot as if she was giving it for the first time.”
