Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer film Simmba was released on December 28. The film is directed by Rohit Shetty and was expected to break records. The film was the talk of the town since its announcement. Like the disappointment that big banner films like Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starrer Zero, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Thugs of Hindostan have delivered at the box office in the past few months, Simmba is coming as a hope!
According to the report on BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film has collected Rs 20.50 crores approximately on day 1. The report further suggests that the film is running excellently in Maharashtra followed by Gujarat.
Reportedly, the film is the biggest Ranveer Singh opening ever and even took Padmaavat by around Rs 2.50 crore nett. The plot of the film revolves around a corrupt policeman, played by Ranveer Singh and how after a tragic event he chooses to take the right path. The film also stars Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Ashutosh Rana in the pivotal roles.
The cameos done by Golmaal team (Arshad Warsi, Kunal Khemmu, Tusshar Kapoor) Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar are some of the special highlights of the film.
