    State of Emergency declared in Canada due to floods, 4 missing

    On July 22, a provincial state of emergency (SOE) was announced qin Canada’s Nova Scotia due to engulfing floods which have demolished life and property. Four people are reportedly missing in the Truro region which also included two kids.

    “This is a very serious event. This flooding has been fast and furious, and we are taking strong action to ensure Nova Scotians are protected,” added John Lohr, Minister working at the Emergency Management Office. “As the rain and flood risk continues, we need people to stay off the roads so that first responders and critical infrastructure partners can do their work to restore our roads and power and keep people safe.”

    The state of emergency will be in due effect till 5 August with no scope of termination or extension as of now by the government.

    As per the reports the children where travelling have might have got stuck underwater.

    Vehicles and houses were drenched in flood. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokeswoman Cindy Bayers averred that submersions of such intensity and nature were reported in West Hants north of Halifax which had left two adults and two children untraceable as of Saturday morning.

    Heavy flooding has been noted in west and northwest Halifax region, a port city which witnessed 90-100 mm rainfall on an average in July
