BTS member SUGA is prepared to start his required military duty. The information was shared on Weverse on Monday by the band’s record label, BigHit Music.

The statement stated, “Hello. This is BigHit Music. We would like to inform our fans that Suga has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further updates in due course.”

The statement further said, “We ask you for your continued love and support for Suga until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artiste. Thank you.”

He went live on August 6 following SUGA’s solo performance in Seoul. The rapper shed a tear at one point. SUGA said, as translated by Twitter user @ryuminating, “I really am not the type to cry, but starting from Snooze, I felt it. The members were there and my sunbaenims came too.”

He continued, “If I say soon, that feels like a lie. So let’s see each other again in 2025. All right? Please wait a bit. 2025, let’s see each other then. You did great. Bye.”

Fans went emotional over the update, someone wrote, “We’re gonna miss our strongest person a lot. Yoongi come back safely and stronger. Let’s all meet again in 2025.”

J-hope and Jin both joined the military in April 2023 and December 2022, respectively. The band is expected to come back together in 2025.
