The All India Football Federation (AIFF), which is coached by 1998 Croatian World Cup semifinalist Stimac and is led by Chhetri, was confident about sending its first team to the Asian Games, according to a previous PTI story.
According to the sports ministry’s requirement that teams be sent that are ranked in the top-8 on the continent, the participation of the Indian men’s and women’s football teams in the Hangzhou Games was previously in doubt.
