Surrey defeated Kent by four wickets to guarantee a home quarterfinal. For a significant portion of the competition, Surrey held the top spot, and they built on that early lead with a strong showing in a high-scoring chase. Aside from Tawanda Muyeye’s 29-ball 41, Jordan Cox (54) and Alex Blake all scored fifty runs as Kent put on 191. Jason Roy led Surrey’s response with a fifty of his own before being bowled out for 58 off 27 in the seventh over. Then Sam Curran took over and hit a 30-ball 50 by himself. In the end, cameo contributions from the other hitters were sufficient for Surrey to complete the task in 18.3 overs.

Brief scores: Kent 191/5 in 20 overs (Tawanda Muyeye 41, Jordan Cox 54, Alex Blake 50*) lost to Surrey 195/6 in 18.3 overs (Jason Roy 58, Sam Curran 50; Qais 3-28) by four wickets.

    Teams:

Kent (Playing XI): Joe Denly, Tawanda Muyeye, Jordan Cox(w), Jack Leaning(c), Alex Blake, Darren Stevens, George Linde, Grant Stewart, Matt Milnes, Qais Ahmad, Fred Klaassen

Surrey (Playing XI): Jason Roy, Will Jacks, Sam Curran, Laurie Evans, Sunil Narine, Jamie Overton, Aaron Hardie, Chris Jordan(c), Jamie Smith(w), Daniel Moriarty, Reece Topley
