India’s most famous tourist attraction Taj Mahal, and the Agra Fort, are all set to reopen from Monday, after an unprecedented closure of six months.

One of the seven wonders of the World Taj Mahal, which attracts people from all across the world, was shut in March due to the pandemic. But now there is good news for all those who wanted to visit the Taj Mahal as the government has now passed the order to reopen it on Monday ie 21 September for the general public. After knowing the news hoteliers have now started preparation for the tourists. Perhaps it is good news for the hotels in Agra. As the hotel industry was shut for over five months and suffered losses. Not only the hoteliers but also the businessman are happy to hear about this announcement.

About the rules and entry fees

Although the orders have passed it is being told that there will be some guidelines for visiting the monuments. Only 2,500 visitors will be permitted inside the mausoleum. For the entrance, the Foreigners will need to buy Rs 1,100 whereas domestic visitors will be able to enter paying Rs 50 per ticket. Rs 200 ticket is additional to enter the main platform for a view of the graves of Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal.

Talking about the preparations Amar Nath Gupta, the caretaker of the Taj Mahal, said: “Sanitisation at the Eastern and the Western gates, thermal screening, painting of circles for social distancing, etc., are in place. Only 2,500 visitors will be permitted inside the mausoleum in one shift and this will only be possible through online booking.”

There is no doubt that tourism was one of the worst affected industry during the pandemic but the good aspect is that slowly the life is coming back to the track. Now the people are looking forward to work again and hoping that the situation gets better.
