The romantic thriller The Ladykiller, which was directed by Ajay Bahl, is acknowledged as an unfinished movie. Last week, the Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar film was launched in theaters, but it received negative reviews for being clumsy. Not even a single marketing campaign or star promotional post was included.

Ajay mentioned in the comment section of a YouTube channel, “To confirm, yes the movie is incomplete. 30 pages of the 117 page screenplay were never shot. A huge number of connecting scenes, Arjun and Bhumi’s entire romance, Bhumi’s dependence on alcohol, Ajrun’s sense of being trapped and losing everything and having to run from town, his sense opf total despair, all these psychological beats are missing. So yes, it’s no surprise that the film feels choppy and disjointed and one finds it hard to connect with the characters.”
He continued, “NOW, about the rumours floating out here, as director, it was extremely painful to shoot The Ladykiller, but absolutely not because of the actors. Arjun and Bhumi were sheer joy to work with. They gave their heart and soul to the film. The problem lied elsewhere but that is another story.”
What went wrong with The Ladykiller?
According to a Times of India article, Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, the film’s producer, released the picture without following a set filming timeline. The producers intended to film it outside in Uttarakhand, but they were unable to do so due to the constant rain in the area.
As a result, the film was edited and completed without that haphazard shot. Due to a commitment to the over-the-top platform where it would eventually debut, it was distributed in theaters. Despite having a ₹45 crore budget, The Ladykiller only grossed ₹38,000 on its first day of release because to a very small number of showing across the nation.
