S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs for the Union, made a suggestion that the United States is adapting to the new multipolar world in a way that would be advantageous to the nation. The Union’s foreign minister said at a discussion at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York on Tuesday that the globe has grown more democratic, allowing for the redistribution of power, and that the US is actively trying to form the new poles and what will be their weight.
“The United States may not use that term, it is adjusting to a multipolar world,” Jaishankar mentioned. “Part of it is the long-term consequences of Iraq and Afghanistan. That’s only one part of it,” he further added.
The minister of external affairs will visit Washington, DC, on Wednesday to meet with Antony Blinken, the US secretary of state.
He said that the alliance between the US, India, Japan, Australia, and Australia, known as Quad, is an illustration of how Washington can no longer claim that it “basically works only with my allies.”
Jaishankar expressed optimism for the India-US alliance, saying there were “enormous possibilities” for advancing mutual interests.
