Earlier Bollywood actors depended on films and endorsements to make their living. However, as time passed many ramped up their income by investing in other businesses such as real estate, new companies, and even venturing into their own production companies. Today, we are going to discuss an actor who not only starred in many films but also owns one of the largest beer companies in India.
The actor we are talking about is the talented and experienced actor Danny Denzongpa who has done over 190 films till date. He has been in the Bollywood industry for well over 50 years, with Zaroorat being his first movie released in 1971. However, when it comes to Danny, achievements in the acting profession are not the only thing he has on his resume. He is 76 years old and also a highly successful businessman and a key player in the beer business, especially within the North East region of India.
Danny Denzongpa owns Yuksom Breweries which he founded in 1987 in South Sikkim. This brewery has expanded and occupies a large market share within the beer industry. It is estimated that Danny has a net worth of around 10 million US dollars or approx. Rs 83 crore. His business is a manufacturer of famous beer products like He-Man 9000, Dansberg Diet, Dansberg 9000, and Dansberg 16000.
In the latter year of 2005, Danny revealed his desire to grow more by starting Denzong Breweries in Odisha. But the most tactical decision to form his business career was when he bought the Assam Rhino Agencies, a relatively small brewing company established in 2002, for about Rs 40 crore. Apart from dominating the Northeastern market, it also contributed to Danny decreasing a major alcohol company, Vijay Mallya’s business, from entering the area. Today, Danny’s three breweries produce about 6.8 lakh hectoliters (HL) of beer every year. His company, Yuksom Breweries, is now the third-largest beer company in India, contributing around Rs 100 crore annually to the economy of the Northeastern states.
Other than Danny Denzongpa, the famous actors who have entered the liquor industry include Bollywood’s Sanjay Dutt and international stars like George Clooney, Drake, Dwayne Johnson, Nick Jonas Priyanka Chopra‘s husband, and Ryan Reynolds.
