Famous actor Karan Oberoi who was seen in a number of TV serials, few films and was a part of a music band – A Band of Boys, is in news. He is grabbing the headlines for all wrong reasons. He was recently arrested for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman.
According to the police, the actor-model allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of marrying her. The police said in a statement that,
“Oberoi not only raped the woman and filmed the act but also demanded money from the victim threatening to release the video if she did not pay up.”
According to the reports, Karan met the woman in October 2016. he then faked his love for her and made fake promises of marriage. Now after 3 years the woman filed an FIR against him alleging him of blackmailing for money by using their intimate video. She said whenever she asked him about marriage he kept ignoring it and would ask for more money.
Recently, when the woman insisted him for marriage he warned her to face dire consequences. Police registered a complaint against Karan under sections 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code.
