According to news agency PTI, the Dalai Lama, the spiritual head of Tibet, was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi on Sunday evening.
He is now being treated by cardiology professor Dr. Rajiv Narang in a separate room at the Cardio-Neuro Centre.
The Dalai Lama was brought to the hospital in the evening, according to the report.
In response to the development, Congress politician Jairam Ramesh posted on X (previously Twitter), “The entire nation wishes Dalai Lama a speedy and full recovery. He is one of the most remarkable of religious leaders who made India his home with the encouragement of Jawaharlal Nehru 64 years ago.”
