Erstwhile staff of Twitter Africe who was sacked earlier by the company has now claimed that Musk has completely ghosted them. According to the workers they have not received any severance pay, CNN quoted.

Billionaire Elon Musk took away Twitter in October 2022 and started off a line of layoffs which have deeply affected the workers. The company in November have dismissed all its staff in Ghana, Africa.

As per CNN, the workers has agreed to the offer by Twitter to pay them three month’s severance for repatriating its foreign staff but have still not progressed on that front.

“They literally ghosted us,” CNN quoted a former Twitter Africa worker at Twitter.

“Although Twitter has eventually settled former staff in other locations, Africa staff have still been left in the lurch despite us eventually agreeing to specific negotiated terms.”

“Twitter was non-responsive until we agreed to the three months because we were all so stressed and exhausted and tired of the uncertainty, reluctant to take on the extra burdens of a court case so we felt we had no choice but to settle,” added another.

A spokesperson for Ghana’s Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations spoke to CNN and assured that it is investigating on such claims.
