Fashion influencer Uorfi Javed is well renowned for her distinctive sense of style, which has been extensively documented by photographers.
In response to being turned away from a Mumbai eatery on Tuesday, she took to her Instagram to post her message.
She wrote, “WTF! Is this really 21st century Mumbai?!?! I was denied entry at a restaurant today. It’s okay if you don’t agree with my fashion choices. It’s NOT to treat me differently for it. And if you are, admit it! Don’t give some lame excuses. Pissed off ! Please look into it. @zomato #mumbai.”
In the video, Uorfi can be heard yelling at the restaurant’s host and calling him a “Uorfi Javed hater.”

Uorfi Javed was recently launched as a Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla model for which the designers lauded her courage and grace. “We dressed Uorfi Javed to show that there is a lot more to her than what meets the eye. For us, collaborating with Uorfi means acknowledging her courage.” In a video, Uorfi said, “I was always a big fan, so when they asked me for this, I was so excited. And when I went on the set, I just didn’t see tall and slim models…there was everyone. It was so inclusive…that’s what I actually stand for.”
Uorfi Javed was recently appreciated by Kareena Kapoor and called her fashion choice “gutsy” and “confident”. Kareena spoke to Zoom Digital, “The fact that she does exactly as she wants, that’s what fashion is all about – when you are comfortable in your own skin and do exactly as you, please. I just love the confidence. I am a confident girl so I am all for confidence. I just love her confidence and the way she walks. Hats off.” She added, “I am not as gutsy as Urfi but I feel it’s extremely brave and extremely gutsy.”
